Export Development Bank is one of the first banks that originatedtheIslamic banking in Sudan; it was established inOctober 1981 and commenced business in1984. Its objectives are development and promotion of the rights of shareholders and investors; contribute to the development of Sudan economy and raising the Banking and Savings awareness in the country.
EDB pursues the actualization of these objectives thought providing outstanding diversified banking services to satisfy the needs of contemporary as well as future expected customers, including but not limited to opening accounts, internal and external transfers, establishing letters of credit and issuing letters of guarantee…etc. The Bank also support and finance the infrastructure of all sectors of Sudanese economy with special emphasis on the exports sector.as well as supporting and financing the needy and poor sectors of the community through the mini and micro finance, as well as co partnerships in specialized funds addressing such groups; such as the graduates fund.
The bank’s role covers interest for providing the banking and financial original products to meet the incipient needs of customer through adopting International Banking Core system (T24).
